An increasing trend for councils and businesses to convert on-road car spaces to shared spaces and outdoor dining and seating area has resulted in explosion of roadside parklets. These parklets often utilise either unattractive concrete or water filled traffic barriers or flimsy fences or planters which provide virtually no protection from an errant vehicle colliding with and entering the parklet. At Future Village we have addressed the lack of protection and poor aesthetics offered by conventional barriers and fences by developing a vehicle collision barrier system. The PlantaBarrier system combines ballast weighted framed units, cladding and a living garden. The weighted units can be deployed individually or joined together using three separate levels of wire rope to form a continuous barrier wall. The combined weight of multiple joined units provides an increased level of protection against unexpected impact from vehicles. PlantaBarrier units incorporate our water reservoir and wicking system, providing a beautiful low maintenance thriving garden customised to your requirements.

The PlantaBarrier system can;
• be deployed in outdoor shared spaces near traffic or traffic free areas,
• provide extra protection for outdoor roadside parklets and dining areas,
• utilise weighted frames to form a heavy, continuous barrier protection against vehicle impact,
• utilise unweighted frames for pedestrian control at events,
• be deployed, moved or removed.
• be produced in different width and weights
• weights comparable to concrete jersey barriers T
The internal system is 95% recyclable at end of life and all products are non-toxic. Made 100% in Australia from Australian products.
